Only 2 Pinoy Films Made it to P100-Million Mark in Mid-2012

It is already July but only two local movies made more than P100 million at the box office according to the latest data released by Box Office Mojo website.

The John Lloyd Cruz - Angel Locsin starrer "Unofficially Yours" is still the highest-grossing Filipino movie of the year, taking in an estimated P154.8 million. The said Star Cinema produced movie is also currently ranks No. 2 for the year behind "TheAvengers," which has become the all-time top-grossing film in the Philippines raking more than P600 million during its run.

However, "The Amazing Spider-Man," which opened only last Friday, will likely topple "Unofficially Yours" from the No. 2 spot. The superhero reboot grossed an estimatedP149 million after only three days in theaters, Box Office Mojo said on Wednesday.

BOX OFFICE RESULT: Unofficially Yours, a Certified Blockbuster Movie; Grosses 113.57 Million Pesos

The Valentine Movie of Star Cinema, Unofficially Yours, starring Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz is now a certified blockbuster movie.

Ayon sa BoxofficeMojo, the most-trusted third-party movie tabulator, ay kumita ang pelikula nina Angel at JLC nang 113.57 Million Pesos sa dalawang linggo nitong pagpapalabas sa mga sinehan.

Ito ang kauna-unahang pelikulang pilipino na kumita ng lagpas 100 Million Pesos sa taong 2012.

Samantala, ang Hitman 2012 na pinagbibidahan ni Cesar Montano at Sam Pinto ay kumita lamang ng 3.78 Million Pesos sa loob ng isang linggo.

Angel Locsin at John Lloyd Cruz, Hubo't hubad sa UNOFFICIALLY YOURS

NAKA-SET na palang talaga ang mind ni Angel Locsin na magpaka-daring at aalisin ang inhibition kung kinakailangan siyang maghubo’t hubad sa isang eksena. Kaya lang, surprising na parang inurungan ‘ata ng kung ‘ano’ dahil noong unang inalok sa kanya ang “Unofficially Yours” movie with John lloyd Cruz ay nag-alinlangan siya.

Sensitibo ang tema ng pelikula pero nang malamang si Cathy Molina-Garcia ang magdi-direk at makatatambal si Lloydie ay nagkaroon siya ng lakas ng loob na tanggapin ito.

Aniya, she is in the right hand at happy siya to do a movie na hindi pa nata-tackle pero controversial.

Ang character ni Ces ang ginagampanan ng aktres na isang makabago, wild at sobra ang self-confidence. Malaking challenge ito sa kanya dahil in real life, mahiyain siya. “Kaya tinanggal ko muna ang inhibitions ko… sana bumalik siya!” napangiting sabi niya.
