Miss International 2011 (Miss Ecuador)

For the first time, a representative from Ecuador bring home the Miss International Crown for her country. Miss Ecuador María Fernanda Cornejo was crowned the 51st Miss International during the coronation night on Sunday, November 6, at the Sichuan Opera Theatre, in Chengdu, China.

On the other hand, Miss Philippines Dianne Necio qualify for the semifinals as she get the People's Choice Award (read story here) .

Dianne Necio wins People's Choice Award: She's now have a spot for Semifinals !

MANILA, Philippines – Beauty queen Dianne Necio, the Philippines’ representative to the Miss International pageant, won the People’s Choice Award.

Necio got 354,237 votes followed by Macau's representative with 318,276 votes and China with 186,395 votes.

Similar to the recently held Miss Universe pageant, the Miss International candidate who will be hailed as the people’s choice in its online poll will be an automatic semi-finalist.
