THE Kabarkada station (Studio 23) will air the much-anticipated football match this season.
Dubbed as "The Dream Cup", Philippine national football team Azkals will face 2011 Major League Soccer champion Los Angeles Galaxy this Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
Leading the Filipino team are forward Ian Araneta and left winger Chieffy Caligdong, as they prove they have what it takes to play with global football superstars David Beckham and Landon Donovan.
Beckham, the English midfield player, captained the England national team from 2000 to 2006 and also played for football giants Manchester United, A.C. Milan, Spain's top club Real Madrid and now the L.A. Galaxy.
Donovan, on the other hand, is an American footballer who holds the title of being the highest scoring American player in the World Cup history.
He also played for Germany's ace club Bayern Munchen and was on loan with English club Everton.
Landon also received the 1999 FIFA U-17 best player award and the 2002 FIFA World Cup best young player award.
Expected Pinoy ballers to take on the pitch are brothers Phil and James Younghusband, Anton del Rosario, Aly Boromeo, and Spanish-Filipino striker Angel Guirado.
Azkals' goalkeeper Neil Etheridge won't be joining the squad because of prior commitments to his English team Fulham FC.
"The Dream Cup" will be aired on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on Studio 23 and Balls HD, with replays on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. on ABS-CBN and Monday, at 9 a.m. on Balls.
