Sophie Albert and Vin Abrenica emerged as Best Actress and Best Actor of Artista Academy respectively, during the Awards Night held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
Sophie Albert, dubbed as the “Artistic Chick of Mandaluyong,” bested fellow female honor listers Shaira Mae and Chanel Morales and emerged as the first Best Actress winner of Artista Academy.
On the other hand, the “Singing Hunk of Pampanga” Vin Abrenica, bested fellow male finalists Mark Neumann and Akihiro Blanco for the first Best Actor award of Artista Academy.
Vin and Sophie each bagged a total of P10 million worth of prize package which includes a trophy especially crafted by Leeroy New, a condominium unit at Lakefront in ParaƱaque City, 1 million pesos cash, a Toyota Innova and an exclusive TV5 contract with a minimum guarantee of P5 million.
Hosted by Cesar Montano, the Artista Academy Awards Night showcased all six Honor Students’ talent in singing, dancing and also in acting via a short film directed by Eric Quizon (for the 3 girls) and Bb. Joyce Bernal (for the 3 guys).
After their performances, they received their final critiques from Mac Alejandre, Gelli de Belen, Lorna Tolentino and Wilma Galvante who were all impressed on their growth as the industry’s future stars.
Veteran actor Eddie Garcia presented the Best Actress award to Sophie while superstar Nora Aunor presented the Best Actor award to Vin. Both winners will also become new Close Up ambassadors and lead stars of an upcoming teleserye on TV5.
It was also announced that the non-winning honor students Akihiro Blanco, Chanel Morales, Shaira Mae and Mark Neumann, together with Tropang Kick-Out members Benjo Leoncio, Brent Manzano, Chris Leonardo, Jon Orlando, Malak So Shdifat, Marvelous Alejo, Nicole Estrada and Stephanie Rowe, will all become exclusive TV5 talents. All of them will star in an upcoming youth-oriented series on the Kapatid Network titled “Forever Barkada.”
